Bonnie L. Owens
Bonnie Lucille Owens, 95, widow of Joe Berry Owens, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, May 12, 2024 at Golden Age in Inman.
Born February 12, 1929 in Spartanburg County, she was a daughter of the late Ed McSwain and Dora Calvert McSwain. She was a Charter Member of Alverson Grove Baptist Church and a homemaker.
Surviving are her children, Wayland “Dude” Ownes (Christine) of Inman, Brenda Reid (Larry-Dec) of Green Creek, NC., Junior Owens (Cookie-Dec) of Boiling Springs, Jesse Owens (Chris) of Chesnee, Dale Owens (Janet) of Marshall, NC., Linda Hood (Mitchell) of Chesnee, Joyce Owens of Boiling Springs; brothers, Will McSwain of Chesnee; 18 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by 7 brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at Harris-Nadeau Mortuary in Chesnee.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at Alverson Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Kirkley and Rev. Bart Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Family members are at the home of her son Jesse Owens.
