Bonnie Katherine Springer, age 73, of Richmond, Kentucky, peacefully departed this life on July 25, 2025. She was a beloved wife, sister, and aunt who brought joy and warmth to those who knew her. A passionate cat lover, Bonnie cherished the companionship of her furry friends. The Christmas season held a special place in her heart, and she looked forward to her family’s annual trip to Gatlinburg, which was filled with laughter and love. Bonnie also looked forward to the Kentucky State Fair, where she delighted in enjoying Ehrler's Peach ice cream and visiting the cows. She also enjoyed Harley-Davidson rides with her beloved husband, Frank.
Bonnie was married to her best friend and partner, Frank Springer, Jr., for 35 cherished years. She had a deep and abiding love for her nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews, creating countless precious memories that they will carry with them forever. Her presence will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Born on November 7, 1951, in Louisville, Kentucky, Bonnie was the daughter of George Hornback and Novella (Harned) Anderson. She is preceded in death by her father, George Hornback; her mother, Novella K. Anderson; her step-father, Vernon Anderson; as well as her mother-in-law, Darlene M. Springer, and father-in-law, Frank D. Springer.
Bonnie is lovingly survived by her husband, Frank Springer, Jr.; her siblings: Anita (Louis) Cohn, Debbie (Sheila Kirk) Shofner, Mike (Melinda) Hornback, and Linda (Paul) Amarant; her cherished nieces and nephews: Mickey (Shelley) Cohn, Amanda Cohn, Natalie Owen, Scott (Katee) Shofner, Michael (Ambar) Hornback, Chrissy Davis, and Daniel (Lyndsey) McDonald; fur babies, Shadoephax, Thorin, and Destardee; along with numerous great-nieces and great-nephews and extended family and friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 4, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, located at 10304 Dixie Highway. Visitation will resume Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. A funeral service will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, followed by burial at Custer Cemetery in Custer, Kentucky.
