Bonnie Troxell Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Bonnie S. Troxell, 66, of Fishersville, who went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 2, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on March 25, 1959, in Staunton, Bonnie was the daughter of the late Ruby Campbell (Bittle).

She was preceded in death by her two beloved sisters, Ruby Jean Hudson and Peggy Ann Kidd; her niece, Nezzie Lockridge, who was nothing less than another sister; and a special nephew, Wilie Mullens.

Bonnie was a true fighter who faced her long battle with cancer with remarkable courage, grace, and strength - an inspiration to everyone who knew her. She lived life to the fullest, finding joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially spending time outdoors, camping, and hunting. Above all, Bonnie cherished her family deeply, and her happiest moments were those shared with them. She was the neighborhood babysitter for many children before beginning her long and dedicated career at Hershey, where she eventually retired after many years of loyal service.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Lee Troxell. Together, they shared nearly 49 years of marriage - missing their anniversary by only 27 days - a true testament to their lifelong love and partnership. Bonnie also leaves behind her two sons, Brian Troxell and his wife, Lisa, of Churchville, and Darrell Troxell of Stuarts Draft; as well as her three beloved grandchildren, Tyler, Kaiden, and Emma, who were the light of her life. She is also survived by three special cousins, Pat Stout, Jimmy Jordan, and Connie Carroll, all of South Carolina. In addition, Bonnie leaves behind many other loved ones, dear friends, and her cherished fur babies.

In keeping with her wishes, Bonnie was cremated.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, October 24, 2025, at Henry Funeral Home in Staunton.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the many friends, doctors, and caregivers who supported Bonnie and her loved ones throughout her illness.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." — 2 Timothy 4:7
