Boris Lawrence, 73, of Otway, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2025.
A memorial service to honor Boris’ life will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, October 25th at Munden Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Johnny Thompson.
Born on July 19, 1952, in Morehead City, NC, Boris was the son of the late Eldred and Adolia Gillikin. He had a long and fulfilling career as a dredge boat captain, a profession he enjoyed throughout his life.
In his free time, Boris enjoyed hunting and was an avid sports fan, particularly enjoying UNC Basketball. Above all, he cherished his family. Boris was a loving husband, a devoted father, and he took immense pride in being a “Pop Pop”. His warmth and kindness will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Those remaining to cherish his memory are his daughter, Michelle Oh of Apex; brother, Kenneth Lawrence; uncle, Reginald Gillikin of Otway; grandchildren, Oakley Oh and Keeley Oh; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Boris was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lila Dale Lawrence; sister, Agatha Willis; and brother, Kirby Lawrence.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Heart Association.
