I first saw you in your rookie season with the Leafs. I was 11, now I'm 59, but the mention of your name or knowing you were in town brought me a warmth.
I met you numerous times, always making me feel like a young girl again.

I would like to express my sympathies to the Salming family. Borje was a great player who brought his professionalism and dedication to the Maple Leafs and did Sweden proud. I will miss him at the annual Hall of Fame game ceremonies. He was a great inspiration to all of Sweden. My prayers and thoughts are with the Salming family at their time of mourning. JP Preston

Borje Salming always was and always will be the greatest Leaf player to so many fans who watched him from day 1 to the end. He is an inspiration to us and the love and respect we all give him is truly deserved. He has left a void never to be filled but memories bring smiles and joy that we were privileged to have witnessed his greatness, game after game. I will cherish his photo and autograph. Borje, You were a leader, a warrior, a champion, a father, a husband, a brother, a friend and so much more to those who were lucky enough to connect with you. You inspired those around you to do their best and to think of others before themselves. As a lifelong fan and a member of the Toronto Swedish Community, I would like to thank you "The King #21" for everything you have done on and off the ice and wish you and your family peace and rest in the coming months and years ahead. The momentum and visibility you created since August 2022 for ALS awareness have been quite remarkable and I am confident that it will have a long-lasting positive impact on those who experience ALS in the future. None of this would have been possible without you and your family's courage to speak out and let people know what this is all about. And if courage is the legacy you leave behind for others to embrace, I could not think of a better one to place on your list of accomplishments. My most sincere condolences to the entire Salming Family.
