Boutros Peter Kassis

Boutros Peter Kassis, age 67, of Chicago, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday morning, January 11, 2025. Born May 14, 1957 in Beirut, Lebanon to the late Loucine and the late Michael Kassis, Peter was the beloved husband of Lorene Kassis; cherished father of Victoria and Michael Kassis, and loving step-dad to Ralph Carper; dear brother of Elie (the late Dianne) De Cassis, George (Jamie) Kassis, Marie Kassis, Tony (Daisy) Kassis, and Fadia (Richard) Jugovich; fond uncle of Sidonie, Christina, Amira, Lily, Michael, Ryan, Cheyenne, Nicole, Michelle, Jessica, and Emily, and cousin to many. Peter immigrated with his family to the U. S. in Feb 1987 and established a home here in Chicago.
Peter was a successful realtor for many years, and was a member of a number of realtor organizations. Peter worked with and assisted in finding homes for so many clients who later became good friends and he was always so thankful for their support through his career and in turn supported those new friends however he could. He met his wife through his business and married in 2001. Peter enjoyed spending time with his kids and coached AYSO soccer for Michael's teams for years and participated in St. Hilary Cub and Boy Scouts for years. He loved watching Victoria's dance and choir recitals. He is so missed and loved by all. Peter lived a faithful life and served everyone in the name of Jesus.
He loved to talk to people, and went out of the way to care for others, especially his sister Marie and also his parents, Loucine and Michael, prior to their passing. Peter trained in martial arts, boxing, and kickboxing, as a young person, and loved to be active. He was the life of the party, and could always be found singing, dancing, and spending much-loved time with his family.
He attended the Church of St. Hilary in Chicago, IL, Resurrection Lutheran Church and attended and was a member of Our Lady of Lebanon Church in Lombard, IL. He will be dearly missed.
Visitation Friday, January 17, 2025, 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Muzyka & Son Funeral Home, 5776 W. Lawrence Ave., Chicago. Funeral Mass Saturday, January 18, 2025 1 p.m. at St. Padre Pio Parish at the Church of St. Hilary, 5601 N. California Ave., Chicago, IL. Interment to follow at Rosehill Cemetery.
