Boyd "Papa Bear" King, 90, of Beaver Mountain was born March 14th, 1935 to his parent's Leonard and Dora "Young" King. He passed away October 14th, 2025 at his home on Beaver Mountain, Oklahoma. He grew up at Rose Hill and Sans Bois. He served his Country in the U.S. Army. In 1957 he married Charlene Vick and they made their home together at Delano, California for two years and later made their home together in Kinta until her passing in 1998. Boyd operated a service station at Kinta for several years before he began a career in the oilfield where he worked for Wofford & Jenkins, Skelly and Getty. He founded Bear Production in 1987. He married Charlene Knoy in 2001 and made their home on Beaver Mountain. He loved fishing, hunting, dancing, and traveling. He was a people person loved by all. He is survived by his wife; Charlene King of the home; 3 Sons, Elden King and Penny Jones of Whitefield, Allen and Kim King of Stigler, Roy and Angie King of Kinta; 1 Stepson, Jamie and Brooke Knoy of Beaver Mountain; grandchildren, Brett and Courtney King, Brock King, Terrah King and Thomas Hensley, Kyle and Hailey King, Trent King and Lindsey Hanna, Ashley and Will Ford, Allen and Allie Knoy, Kayla and Blake Wright, Daphne and Hollie Sprague; great Grandchildren, Lola, Jasper, Brex, Shooter, Briley, Bella, Dawson, Conner, Layton, Hudson, Lawson, Jax, Lilly, Carter, Olivia. Nieces and Nephews, Sherry Wright, Becky and Gordon McGee, Mark and Linda King, Patsy and Kenny Lucherk, Annette and Monty Bollinger. He is preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Dora King; 1 Brother, Johnny Joe King; 1 Sister, Louise Munn; his first wife Charlene. Funeral Services will be Friday, October 17th, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Kinta First Baptist Church officiated by Reverend Jack Sloan. The Eulogist will be Patsy Lucherk. Pallbearers will be Brett King, Kyle King, Brock King, Trent King, Allen Knoy, Blake Wright. Honorary Pallbearers; Carl Ford, Mike Knittig, David McDonald, Don Mathis, and Eck Moore. Burial will follow at Sans Bois Cemetery under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home.
