Minister Boyd William Tyler peacefully passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2025. He was born on September 24, 1952, to the late Collie and Retta Mae Tyler in Aiken County. At an early age, he joined his home church, Sardis Missionary Baptist Church of Salley, SC. He served as a faithful member at Sardis, singing for the A.E Adams Choir and Sardis Male Chorus. He accepted the calling of preaching in 2012 and became a Minister under the leadership of King David Johnson at St. Peters New Fellowship Church in Graniteville, SC. He was employed by Aiken County Public School and worked for twenty-five-plus years at Avondale Mills. Boyd was passionate about hunting, fishing, music, dancing, and Wagener-Salley Friday night football. He was the co-founder of"The Mighty Gospel Jewels" quartet group. He was a very family-oriented man who loved his children. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Collie Tyler Jr. and Willie Tyler, and one sister, Katherine Christia. Boyd will be deeply missed and leaves cherished memories to his significant other, Eartha "Dolly" Robinson of Wagener, SC, two daughters, Trinika (Rod) Corley of Wagener, SC, Sacoya "Rita" (Travis) Hightower of Trenton, SC and one son; Brock (Nicole) Tyler of Wagener, SC, one bonus son, Legrantt Robinson of Columbia, SC; two grandchildren; T'Bias Harris and Saiaghn Corley; Siblings; three sisters, Florine Danley, Mae Tyler both of Aiken, SC and Linda Tyler of Dalzell, SC; one brother, Edmond (Cheryl) Tyler of Aiken, SC, along with a host of family and friends.
