Robert Bradley Barney, 62, of Westerville, passed away on February 6, due to heart complications, surrounded by family and friends.
Brad was born on December 13, 1961 to Carol (Browning) Morroni and Robert L. Barney in Lexington, KY.
Brad was an accomplished athlete in Football, Baseball, Hockey, and Tennis, and also an avid golfer. After he graduated from Westerville North High School in 1980, he played baseball at Indian River State College in Fort Pierce, FL, then played football at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, CA.
Along with his father and brothers, he helped build Rolling Meadows Golf Club in Marysville, Ohio in 1994, which the family operated until it was sold in 2021. He loved cheering on his favorite Ohio sports teams, especially the Reds, Browns, Blue Jackets, and Buckeyes.
Brad is survived by sister Ann (John) Blateri, brother Bryan (Cyndy) Barney; nephews Reece Blateri, Dustin Ubbing, Jake Ubbing, Michael Barney; niece Ally Blateri; Uncle David Simmerman; cousins David (Kay) Simmerman, Cathy (Chuck) Etheridge, Michael (Tami) Simmerman, and Bob (Bridgett) Simmerman. Brad was preceded in death by his mother Carol Barney Morroni, and his father Robert Barney, and aunt Marlene Simmerman.
Services will be held at Moreland Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 13th at 5:00-7:00 pm with a service to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Church of the Messiah, 51 N. State St., Westerville, OH 43081, or the charity of your choice.

Most anytime at the Barney house from 1976 to 1980 was a good memory of Brad. From watching Westerville North game footage on the big screen to the swimming pool or shooting pool. There was always something to do or mischief to get into. With Brad and his crooked grin leading the way.
