Brad Hines Obituary

Visit the Lucas Funeral Home - Keller website to view the full obituary.
The sudden passing of Brad Hines, 59, on December 30, 2022 left his family and friends shocked.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Diana, his children Emmalee Aguilar and husband Crispin, grandson Crispin Jr., Jessica Hines, Blake Hines, and 3 four-legged kids Kia, Hank, and Rusty. His brother, Benny, and many nephews, nieces, in-laws, and extended family. Brad was raised in Buckingham, Texas by Billye Fate Hines and Mary Nell Harris. And even though he grew up in the Dallas area he would later be dubbed "The Unofficial Mayor of the Fort Worth Stockyards".
Brad was blessed to be able to make a living using his God-given talent to tell a story in song. While he gigged in and around the metroplex, the Fort Worth Stockyards was his home away from home. He loved The White Elephant Saloon (Beer Garden aka Love Shack) with all his heart. This venue holds many milestone memories for Brad as well as the start of many friendships that lasted his lifetime.
The only thing greater than his love for his family and talent for music was his undeniable faith for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Brad's testimony brought him to celebrate 28 years of sobriety and Brad was not shy to praise God for saving him and making a way to share his story all for God's glory.

Met him in 2004 at the White Elephant and fell in love with his life and story. Many hurtful lonely nights his songs help me grieve and heal from my aweful childhood. He gets suffering, the silent groaning of the human soul, and is now standing in glory in from of the Lord.

I met and saw Brad perform at the Love Shack in Ft. Worth, TX.

I was on my way home to Chicago after spending some time with friends In the Dallas area.

It was the first time I saw Brad or who he was. His songs and personality touched my heart. I stayed overnight at the Stockyards and saw him perform two days in a row.

I bought two of his CD´s and listened to them over and over while driving home.

I loved his songs and the stories he told about them .

My memory of him will always be a part of me.

May his music live on forever, and may he RIP.

God Bless Brad and his family

RIP

This last weekend I was at a used cd store and going through the cd's and ran across three of Brad's cd's. I had never heard of him but they looked interesting so I bought all three. After hearing just one of his cd's and after immensely enjoying it, I decided to look up his information and was saddened that he had recently passed away. My condolences to his family and friends.

We started listening to Brad in the early 90´s. It was during those early years, the good ole days, where performers and staff had been there for 20+ years and Brad became one of them. We made lots of friends both inside the Saloon and out. In the beer garden, tourist would come and go, but they always tipped Brad when they left. Brad always recognized folks from out of town and sang a special song for them. They always tipped Brad when they left, which you don´t see everywhere else.
Brad would always look up at us when he missed a note or words to a song. He knew we heard it and would display that grin that will stay in our memories forever.
December 30 is another day that country music died. Our hearts ache, not only for our loss, but for his family and everyone that loved him as we do. We pray his family will find comfort in knowing he was loved by many and touched a lot of people along the way. I don´t know if the question "why" will ever be answered but thankfully our memories of Brad and his music will live on forever in our hearts.

Brad was such a lovely man! We so enjoyed the MANY times we would go and listen to his singing at The Love Shack with family and friends. My favorite time was on a cold winter evening when it was just my husband and I sitting under a heater enjoying Brad singing all of our favorites just to us! What a beautiful evening it was and I will carry that memory and so many others with me always. We were so fortunate to go see Brad while we were celebrating our anniversary this past December. We went out of our way to see if he was in the Stock Yards and I am so glad we did. We had not seen him in a few years since we have moved out of the city and visiting with him that day was a joy. My condolences to his family. He updated us on all of you that day with such love in his heart. God Bless....
