I first encountered Brad at ITS conference as a theater student where his tall presence welcomed every student, teacher, and chaperone at the help desk. I went on to return to the conference for 11 consecutive years and counting, eventually becoming an alumni board member. The more involved I got, the more I saw how this was his life and passion, and providing this theater experience to the entire state of Missouri's theater community seemed to come incredibly natural for him.
My last conversation with him was me throwing my hat in the ring for an elevated role at conference, something he was able to grant for me and I will forever deeply wish I could thank him in person for letting me share my passion. Hopefully I can share that love of theater in even half the capacity I saw him do it, His presence will be truly missed at conference and his students I'm sure have now faced an incredible loss. Thank you for everything you did, Brad and rest easy

No one has made quite as much a difference in my son´s life as Brad Rackers did. Sam was always a good kid, but he found his passion in Mr. Rackers´ theatre. More than that- Brad taught him about discipline and process and creativity, and prepared him for his future in theater and beyond. He will be so very missed.

My condolences to his family and friends and all those who have lost a mentor.
