BALLSTON LAKE - Bradley K. Johnson, 81, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, October 23, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born on April 30, 1944, to Kenneth and Olive Johnson, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Brad earned his degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, where he was a member of the Triangle Fraternity. He then went on to earn two Master's Degrees. He moved to Schenectady in 1969 to work for General Electric, and later worked for PTI and ABB, Inc. in Latham, retiring in 2016.
Brad enjoyed sailing and canoeing at his camp on Galway Lake, as well as hiking, and taking ski trips in the winter. He was always up for an adventure, traveling all over the world with his beloved companion Sylvia. They took many vacations with their grandchildren to Disney and the Caribbean. He was always there to support the grandkids, watching their robotic competitions, soccer games, concerts, and school events. Family and friends were important to Brad, and he always went back home to Minnesota to join the holiday celebrations.
Brad is survived by his longtime companion Sylvia Armer; and her children, Jason Armer (Ellen), Melanie Smith (Todd), and Saralyn Critchlow (Aaron); grandchildren, Sam, Paige, Hazel, Ailish, Bryceson, and Lainey; his sister, Laurie Skorczewski (Greg); nieces, Carly Van Veldhuizen (Nick) and Alexa Cole (Zach); grandniece, Ramona; uncle, Dale; and cousins, Gayle, Tom, Cheri, Brian, Roger, and Bill. He shared many good times with his friends, Lenny, Karen and Metro, John and Beth; and their children, Malcolm and Alex.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Sunday, October 26, from 2 to 4 p.m., at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High St., Ballston Spa. A service will be held at 4 p.m.
