The family of Brad O’Neil is heartbroken to announce his sudden passing on November 10, 2025, in Athens, GA at the age of 69. Brad was born on June 4, 1956, in Goffstown, NH to his parents Arthur (predeceased 1978) and Dorcas (predeceased 2016).
Brad was raised in Goffstown, NH and graduated from GHS in 1974. After high school, he joined the Army and was stationed at Fort Devens in Ayers, MA. He was a member of the18th US Army Band performing around the NE states leading up to the 1976 US Bicentennial. Upon honorable discharge, Brad became involved in the Hospitality Industry. During his career, he managed several different restaurants in Manchester and Keene NH along with a hotel in Merrimack NH.
He decided he needed a change of scenery and relocated to Georgia. In May of 1997, Brad began working for Fred’s Historic Properties in Athens, GA where he worked his way up to Field Operations Manager and remained in this role until his passing.
He was an avid and loyal NE sports fan. But the NE Patriots held a special place in his heart. After moving to Athens, Brad became a huge Georgia Bull “Dawgs” fan.
People who knew Brad gravitated to his kindness and once they got to know him, understood and appreciated his sense of humor and sarcasm. He had many accomplishments throughout his life, but was most proud of achieving sobriety in 2006. He will always be in our hearts and remembered fondly with love.
Brad leaves behind his sisters Patti O’Neil, Margaret Mistretta (Brian), Dorcas Duclos (John), Sharon Rasmussen (Craig), many nieces, nephews, cousins, his best friend David Sheldon, a friend since childhood and his many friends and colleagues in Athens, GA, who became his second family.
