Bradley Pygott Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bauer Funeral Home - Effingham on Jan. 2, 2026.
Bradley D. Pygott, 54, of Effingham, passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2025.

Brad was born on October 7, 1971 in Mattoon to Carl and Janice (Buck) Pygott. He graduated from St. Anthony High School with the Class of 1990. Brad worked at St. Anthony Hospital for many years before continuing his career at Global Paper, where he was employed for many more years.

He was an avid sports fan who proudly cheered for his favorite teams, the San Diego Padres and the Dallas Cowboys. Above all else, Brad's greatest joy was his daughter, Paige. He devoted himself to her many activities, whether it was cross-country, dance, or anything else that mattered to her.

Brad also treasured his role as a "bonus" person to Jacob, Tyler, and Dylan, whom he cherished deeply. He looked forward each year to the family tradition of attending holiday tournament basketball games.

Brad is survived by his daughter, Paige of Gillespie; his father, Carl Pygott, and stepmother, Betty; his brothers, Doug (Linda) Pygott, John Pygott, and Michael (Francis) Pygott, all of Effingham; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Janice Pygott; his brother, Steve Pygott; and his grandparents, Dale and Emma Pygott, and Leo and Geraldine Buck.
