Deacon Brady Jacobs

Deacon Brady Jacobs, age seventy-five, departed this life and entered into eternal rest Thursday, October 16, 2025 at his residence in Hurdle Mills. He was born in Orange County June 4, 1950 to the late Jim Henry and Katie Swann Jacobs, made his home in Hurdle Mills and was a member of Lattisville Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Scoggins Jacobs; and siblings: Frances Torain, Alexander Jacobs, Vince Jacobs, Russell Jacobs, Excell Jacobs, Jim Dallas Jacobs, Donnell Jacobs and Dennis Jacobs.

He leaves to cherish precious memories, a daughter, Lucinda Moses and a son, Chance Jacobs, both of Roxboro, North Carolina; a grandson, Isaiah McGhee; goddaughter, Jade Jacobs of Durham, North Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.

The funeral service will be held Friday, October 24, 2025 at 1:00pm at Lattisville Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 1701 Jimmy Ed Road in Hurdle Mills 27541, with the Reverend Dr. George Crews, III, Pastor, providing the eulogy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will also be Friday at the church from 12:00pm to 1:00pm when his body will lie in state for one hour prior to the service. At other times, the family will receive visitors at his home, 224 Wiley Bradsher Road in Hurdle Mills.
