Brandon Cook Obituary

Brandon M. Cook

October 16, 1992 - January 26, 2025

Normal – Brandon M. Cook, 32, of Normal, formerly of Chicago, passed away at 12:55 p.m. on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at Carle BroMenn Medical Center in Normal.

A Celebration of Life for Brandon will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the McLean County Humane Society or Carlock Fire Protection District.

Brandon was born in Normal on October 16, 1992, a son to Michael and Cynthia (Lockwood) Cook. He grew up in the Carlock area and was a graduate of Normal Community West High School. He attended Heartland Community College and the University of Illinois Chicago for his undergraduate education. Later, Brandon earned his pharmacy doctorate from the University of Illinois Chicago College of Pharmacy in May 2021, where he graduated with honors. Brandon worked at several specialty pharmacy clinics for Walgreens in the Chicago area.

In his spare time, Brandon enjoyed dedicating his energy into "making beats" to create his own music and was a skilled guitar player. He also enjoyed playing video games with his brother and delighted in doting on his dog, Rue, whom he loved deeply.

Brandon is survived by his parents, Mike and Cynthia Cook of Normal; brother, Douglas Cook of Chatham; his faithful dog, Rue; maternal grandmother, Virginia Lockwood of Bloomington; two aunts; one uncle; and six cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, maternal grandfather, an aunt, and an uncle.

To quote Brandon, "All time is good time." With a cancer diagnosis hanging over his head, he made sure to enjoy life to the fullest these past few months.

The family wishes to express their deepest thanks to the caring staff at Carle BroMenn Medical Center, particularly Brandon's favorite nurse, Andrew.

Dear Mike and Cindy,
I know from experience that words are never enough. But I have been remembering Brandon and Doug and Simon, laughing in the basement, making tunes and doing funny imitations in the car. Brandon will live in our memories and hearts.
