On February 14, 2023, Brandon made is journey to the spirit world while surrounded by his family. There will be a wake beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 19, 2023 at the AJ Agard Building in Fort Yates, North Dakota. Funeral Services will be on Monday, February 20, 2023 beginning at 10:00 a.m. and burial will follow at the Fasthorse Family Cemetery in Cannonball, North Dakota where he will be laid to rest next to his Mom.
Brandon was born on July 3, 1981 to Marvine and Larry Fasthorse. Brandon attended school and graduated from the Standing Rock Community School. He worked at various jobs; Standing Rock IHS, Wavelengths Recovery, Beachview Treatment, Northbound Treatment and MHA Nation Children's Family Services. Brandon had a talent to design and make dancing regalia for many family and friends. He made his Mom's jingle dresses in many of her favorite colors. Brandon would vision a dress for her and make it exactly how he envisioned his Mom dancing in it. Marvine was so proud to wear her son's work. He made his brother Larson's traditional regalia and took pride in watching his brother become a champion dancer. Brandon helped with his dad's traditional regalia as well. He made many grassdance outfits for many champion dancers as well as his own. He beaded all his own regalia. Once he was blessed with his first niece Lilly, he knew what she was going to dance fancy shawl. Lilly had her first shawl and would perform for everyone at the camper sporting her new shawl that Uncle Brandon made just for her. He was a proud Uncle and loved his nieces with all his heart.
Brandon had many friends that he called sisters. Many many crazy and treasured memories with each of them Luann Poitra, Marlo Hunte, Nicole Bull Bear, Erin Iron Road, Suzie White Bull, Kim White Bull, Tabby Silk, Sharla Silk, Penny Demery, Duanna Silk, Becky Archambault, Good Earth Woman, Lila Uses Arrow, and Ashley Walking Elk to name only a hand full. His kind heart and humor drew him to close relationships with his sisters.
Later in life, Brandon traveled to California to live with his late sister, Nicole Bull Bear. It was there that he made many friends and began a sober life by completing a treatment program and later becoming a sponsor to others. He worked for the Wavelengths Recovery, Beachview Treatment and Northbound Treatment Facilities. He often shared pictures on Facebook of him kicked back at the beach and making everyone envious because its cold in the Dakotas.
Brandon is survived by his father-Larry, brothers-Larson (Amber), Dorian (Shayla), nephew-Brightyn, nieces-Lilly, Laya, Lainey Fasthorse, Ali Jo and Akeem James O'Shea Hogan Luta, Tateum Starr and Presley Bull Bear. Grandmother-Joanne Hogan Luta; Grandpa Wendell "Winky" Starr and Hank Starr, Melissa Starr. Aunts-Magaline and Margaret Fasthorse, Dinah Holding Eagle-Belgarde and Kathy Holding Eagle-Turner; Uncles- Volney, Edmund, Edsel Fasthorse, George (Sharon), Kasey and Danielle Starr, Dale and Ronald Starr. God Children: Syanne Josephine Young Bird, Rasheed Weasel, Presley King Bull Bear, Ray'Von Silk Lennox, Chaydyn Agard, Romeo John Carry Moccasin, and Gabby Poitra. In a Facebook post, Brandon named his Godchildren and reminded them he loved them all. And all the Twin Buttes Oyate.

Preceded in death by: Mother-Marvine Fasthorse, Brother-AJ Starr, Maternal Grandparents-Marvin (Ann) Starr, Grandma Louise Starr, Grandpa Mathew Holding Eagle, Grandpa Donald Kidder, Robert Bullhead, Grandma Ella, Grandma Isabelle and Grandpa Felix Kidder, Uncle BJ Kidder, Auntie Carla Jewett, Auntie Loretta Kidder, John Starr, Melvin Starr; Paternal Grandparents-Evangeline and Edward Fasthorse Sr., Uncle Edgar Fasthorse, Uncle Loren "Snuff" Starr and Sister-Nicole Bull Bear and Nephew Baby Kingston Kuntz.
