Brandon Keith Goodner, a resident of Bogalusa, passed away January 7, 2025. He was born January 16, 1981 in Bogalusa, Louisiana. He was a carpenter by trade in his earlier years and a tattoo artist for many years, tattooing in both Louisiana and Illinois.
Brandon was a kind and gentle soul with an infectious laugh. He was shy and quiet until you got to know him and then his fun and comedic personality shined brightly. He was a true friend to many and always helped others. Lovingly known as Uncle Brandon, he loved spending time with his nieces and nephew. His greatest love was his children, Tyler and Alivia.
Brandon loved to fish and enjoyed the outdoors. He had even checked a bucket list adventure of ice fishing on a recent vacation. Brandon had a deep love for music. He learned to play guitar at the age of 10 and enjoyed playing and collecting. Brandon was an artist, both drawing and tattooing. He also loved to cook, especially Cajun food and enjoyed cooking for his friends and family often. He was an incredible carpenter and could build just about anything. Brandon was truly talented and excelled at anything he set his mind to.

His loving children, Tyler Prater of Bogalusa and Alivia Goodner of Franklinton, LA; mother – Lisa Winegeart of Bogalusa, LA; sisters – Shanda Cothern Moore (Kevin) of Bogalusa, Meranda Stewart (Justin) of Monmouth, IL, Hannah Wells (Kyle) of Abita Springs, LA; nephew, Ayden Stewart; nieces, Shelby Robinson, Christian Walker, Alyssa Busby, Regan Cothern, Kinzley Moore, Keagan Saucier, Mckenna Wells, Emma Crowl, Ellie Crowl, and Eby Crowl; one great niece, Alena Walker. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Randall K. Cothern; brother, Shane Cothern; uncle, Clay Cothern; Grandparents, Sonny and Jimmie Cothern, Carole Youngblood, and James Goodner
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home, 216 Alabama Avenue, Bogalusa, LA 70427, on Thursday January 16, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. with Bro. Don Miley officiating. Interment to follow in Hillview Memorial Gardens on Spring Valley Road, Bogalusa, LA 70427.
A visitation will be held on Thursday morning from 9:30 A.M. until service time

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Billy Pounds and Randy Hebbein
