Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hansen-Spear Funeral Home on Nov. 29, 2025.
With great sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Brandon Meyer, who-true to his superhero spirit-fought the hardest battle of his life with courage, humor, and unwavering strength. Brandon left this world on November 26, 2025, at the young age of 42. We take comfort in imagining that heaven needed a better punchline and welcomed the one who always knew how to bring laughter.
We are profoundly grateful to have shared life with him, even if our time together was far too short. Brandon's laughter brightened heavy days, and his gratitude endured even when life was difficult. We already miss his laugh, his smile, and the way he could turn ordinary moments into stories worth keeping.
Born on June 10, 1983, Brandon quickly established himself as a force of nature. He lived a life rich in experiences, drew laughter wherever he went and was abundantly blessed with the love of his family.
He was a devoted husband to his one and only true love, soul mate and best friend, Stephanie. With her right by his side, he could conquer the world and all its challenges. Brandon was a tirelessly proud and hilarious father to his children, Logan, Charlie (Kameil) and Parker. While we would think life couldn't get any better after these three, his one and only grandson, Silas, proved us wrong. There was nothing PaPa wouldn't do for his little man.
He was his family's anchor-the one you wanted in your corner, no matter what. He taught his children how to love deeply, live honestly, work hard, and be good humans. In these recent years, he taught all of us how to fight fiercely for what matters and never, ever give up.
Brandon graduated from Payson Seymour High School in 2001, graduated from Vatterott College in 2003, and later received his Bachelors of Science in Information Technology and Network Administration from Western Governors University in 2019. He proudly dedicated 22 years of service to Hannibal Regional Hospital, where he built not only a career but a second family. His passion for computers and electronics was matched only by his enthusiasm. He approached his career in healthcare IT with both expertise and heart, finding joy in helping others and making systems work better for everyone. At work, his enthusiasm was infectious, and he had a unique talent for turning even stressful moments into opportunities for laughter.
He leaves behind a legacy of joy, laughter, and resilience, along with a work family who will miss his quick wit and infectious smile more than words can express. Until the day we are reunited, we will honor him by living as he did-with love, with joy, and with gratitude.
Brandon is survived by his loving wife and soulmate, Stephanie Meyer; his children, Logan, Charlie (Kameil), and Parker Meyer; and his grandson, Silas Meyer. He is also survived by his mother, Sandra Waters, and his bonus father, Jeff Waters; his siblings, Zachary Waters and Brittany Waters; and his mother- and father-in-law, Holly and Steve Hudelson. He leaves behind his brothers-in-law, Corey (Jen) Hudelson and Chad Hudelson, his sister-in-law, Grace Mabry, He is further survived by his grandfather, Lee Gallaher and his grandmother, Maxine Hudelson, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends too many to count.
Brandon leaves behind an extraordinary work family at Hannibal Regional Hospital, who will miss him dearly. The love and support they gave him and his family throughout this journey can never be measured. He has now been reunited in Heaven with his father, Gary Meyer, whom he longed to be by in the end. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Virginia Meyer and Shirley Gallaher, as well as Rev. Tom and Mary Waters as well as several aunts and uncles.
