Brantley "Pete" Lee Pierce, 77, of Sanford, Florida passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, September 6, 2024 at Advent Health in Orlando, Florida.
Brantley was born on August 31, 1947 to John Winfred Pierce and Martha Rich Pierce in Asheboro, NC. He attended Tabernacle Elementary School and graduated from Farmer High School Class of 1965. During the summers, he worked at the Asheboro Country Club in the Pro Shop and also as a caddy. He moved to Sanford, Florida in 1974. Brantley worked for Exxelia Dearborn Electronics for forty three years as a machine shop supervisor where he was known as a master machinist before retiring in 2017.
Brantley had a passion for bowling and competed in tournaments nationwide. He also served on the board of the Seminole County Bowling Association and Orlando Regional USBC for the past forty six years. Brantley was also on the board of directors for the Florida State Bowling Association, the Conference of East Zone Bowling Association (C.E.Z.B.A) and assisted with the Youth Committee. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1985 for Meritorious service.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by the love of his life Bonnie Kravitz as well as his brothers Wayne Pierce and Gene Pierce both of Asheboro, NC.
He is survived by his daughter's, Kimberly Pierce Benton (Ronnie) of Bluff City, TN and Sonya Pierce Norman of Knoxville, TN. Stepdaughters Sonni Stoneking (Charlie) of Midwest City, OK and Cheryl Kravitz of Sanford, FL. Grandchildren Dustin Geames, Jada Staley (Tyler), Samantha Stoneking, Sydney Stoneking and Chloe Bowers. Sister, Linda Pierce Bristow of Asheboro, NC.
A memorial service will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, Longwood, Florida Saturday, On September 21, 2024 at 11AM with a Gathering 1hour prior at 10AM.
A second Service will be held on October 12, 2024 at Friendship Baptist Church located at 2235 Spero Rd, Randleman, NC.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a charitable contribution be made to the Orlando Regional USBC (501(c)(3)exempt) youth scholarship fund located at 10749 East Colonial Drive, Orlando, FL 32817. Please contact Gale Angelillo at 407-447-4622 with any questions.
