Brenda Applebaum Obituary

Brenda Joyce Applebaum (née Rothstein), 69, of Oreland, PA, passed away on June 6, 2024. She was born on November 30, 1954, in Philadelphia, PA.
Brenda was a dedicated Philadelphia school teacher and served as a Civil Air Patrol 1st LT. She was known for her caring nature, always putting others first. Brenda's impact as a teacher extended beyond the classroom, with students remembering her for a lifetime. She also actively engaged in discussions with individuals facing similar health challenges after receiving a kidney donation and graciously donated her corneas to the Gift of Life program.
In her free time, Brenda enjoyed baking, art, sewing, and supporting others. She also cherished outings to dinner, plays, and tea houses. Brenda’s greatest joy was her family.
She is survived by her loving husband, M. Allen Applebaum, her children David, Matt, Donna, Brittany, Emily, Cory, Jake, Tracy, and Abby, her grandchildren Paul, Mya, Karl, Makenna, Bailee, Reese, and Ezra, as well as her siblings Marty, Stephen, and Gary. Brenda was preceded in death by her mother Ruth Rothstein, father Louis Rothstein, brother Benjamin, and sister Carol.
A service to honor Brenda's life will be held at Goldsteins in Southampton on June 10, 2024, at 11:15 am, followed by interment at King David Cemetery. Shiva will be held at her home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Gift of Life https://www.donors1.org/give-to-gift-of-life/ or the American Kidney Foundation https://www.kidneyfund.org/ in Brenda's memory.
