Brenda Gene Bennett, 69, of Highland, Kansas, formerly of St. Joseph, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at her home in Highland, KS. Born on October 13, 1956, in St. Joseph, the daughter of Martha and Clinton Burns. Brenda graduated from Benton High School. She was married to Ronnie Bennett in St. Joseph. Brenda had a passion for genealogy, horses, going to car shows and the races. She cherished spending time with her family.

Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Bennett; her parents; her brother, Robert Dean Burns and her sister, Peggy Carol Burns. She is survived by her children: Daniel Bennett of St Joseph, Shon (Lyndsay) Bennett of St. Joseph, Lacey (Beau) Martin of St Joseph, Scott (Sarah) Bennett of Troy, KS, and Brandon (Kali) Ballard of Savannah, MO; her sister, Annie Silvey (Donnie Kerns) of St. Joseph; grandchildren Kodi, Levi, Isaac, Braelynn, Langston, Delainey, Hannah, Jody, Evie, Finley, Sebastian, Archer, Fletcher, Tucker, and Cooper, 2 great-grandchildren, Oliver and Londyn, several nieces, nephews, and cousins, her best friend, Ramona Brown, and her beloved dog, Lily.

Brenda has been cremated under the care of Rupp Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, January 2, 2026, at the Rupp Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will follow the Visitation, beginning at 7:00 PM at the St. Joseph Boat and Yacht Club.

Memorials are requested to the American Cancer Society or Brain Aneurysm Foundation.
