Brenda M. Grand-Lienard

Brenda M. Grand-Lienard, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away on November 7, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on August 9, 1941, in McKinney, Texas, Brenda's life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family and her innate ability to nurture and support those around her.

Brenda was the cherished matriarch of an extensive family that was the center of her world. She is survived by her loving children, Dorothy Gonzalez and her husband Mario, Robert James Grand-Lienard III, and Edward Grand-Lienard and his wife Joey. She was a guiding light to her grandchildren, Robert James (Jim) Grand-Lienard IV and his wife Whitney, Gayle Bowman and her husband Ethan, Ashley Grand-Lienard, Abby Swanson and her husband Parker, Jason Grand-Lienard and his wife Jessica, Jacob Grand-Lienard and his wife Theresa, Ana Jauregui and her husband Isaiah, Mario Gonzalez Jr., Jacey May Grand-Lienard, and Jaden Grand-Lienard. Her legacy will live on through her 16 great-grandchildren, who will continue to be inspired by the values she instilled in them.

Brenda was the loving sister of Judy Giaudrone and was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert James Grand-Lienard Jr., her granddaughter, Jackie Grand-Lienard, and her devoted parents, Clarence "Pete" Shockey and Fannie Pearl (Cameron) Shockey.

Known affectionately as "Mawmaw" by her grandchildren, Brenda was the epitome of a loving, caring, and supportive presence in their lives. She was a devoted and loving wife, a mother whose heart knew no bounds, and a role model whose strength and compassion were unparalleled. Her family was everything to her, and she dedicated her life to ensuring that each member felt loved, valued, and supported.

Brenda's role as the best first mate to her husband was not only evident in their shared love for sailing but also in the way she navigated the waters of life with grace and resilience. Her love for being on the water was matched only by her love for being a mother. Her children and grandchildren will always remember the countless hours she spent listening, advising, and simply being there for them in every possible way.

The words loving, kind, and thoughtful only scratch the surface of describing Brenda. She had a unique ability to make everyone around her feel special and cared for. Her warmth and generosity of spirit were contagious, and she leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to ripple through the lives of those she touched.
