Brenda Guillory Obituary

Brenda Joyce Veazeay Guillory, age 81, passed from this life into eternal rest on November 6, 2025, surrounded by her
loving family at Memorial Hermann Hospital.

Brenda was born on January 20, 1944, in Los Angeles, California, to the late Sally Mae Taylor Veazeay and Herbert
Veazeay. She grew from childhood to adolescence and resided in the home of her beloved grandparents, Ellis Taylor,
Sr. and Annie Mae Taylor, and later with Dave J. Moss and her mother, Sally Mae Taylor Moss.

She began her early education at Blackshear Elementary School, continued at E.O. Smith Jr. High School, and later
attended Jack Yates Senior High School. She proudly graduated in the Class of 1961 from Evan E. Worthing High School.

Brenda accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Jordan Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the
leadership of Pastor W. H. Banks. Her faith remained a guiding force throughout her life. A gifted pianist, she served
faithfully in the music ministry alongside Dorothy Jean Scott and Dr. Loraine Peterson, blessing countless souls
through her music and dedication.

Brenda pursued higher education at Texas Southern University, where she majored in Music - a reflection of her
deep and lifelong passion for the arts. A talented pianist and beautiful singer, Brenda used her musical gifts to bring
joy to others, whether performing in church, at family gatherings, or simply at home.

In August of 1963, Brenda married the love of her life, Homer Charles Guillory. From this union, two sons were born:
Patrick Bouvier Guillory and Anthony Charles Guillory.

Brenda was known for her vibrant personality, impeccable sense of style, and radiant spirit. She had a flair for
fashion and carried herself with confidence and grace. Her quick wit and infectious sense of humor could light up any
room, making her truly the life of the party. Beneath her elegance and charm, Brenda also possessed a strong "no-
nonsense" attitude - she spoke her mind, stood on her principles, and lived life on her own terms.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Charles Guillory, her parents, grandparents, and brother-in-law,
Jerome Hawkins.

She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted sons, Patrick Bouvier Guillory and Anthony Charles Guillory, her
loving siblings, Gloria Ann Hawkins, Dave Joseph Moss, Jr. (Daphne), and Ellis Vincent Moss (Yvette); three adored
grandchildren, Ashlea' Nykole Guillory, Courtney Guillory, and Jordan Guillory; and a host of nieces, nephews,
cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.

Brenda will be remembered for her strength, laughter, love of music, and devotion to her family. Her legacy of faith,
joy, and perseverance will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.

Closing Reflection

"Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over
many things. Enter thou into the joy of thy Lord."

- Matthew 25:21
