Brenda Ann Hoover Sons

Brenda Ann Hoover Sons, age 80 of Winchester, passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025, at her residence. A native of Franklin County, she was born on August 13, 1945, to the late John Alfred and Myrna Bell (Morris) Hoover. Her professional work career included working as a seamstress for Lanier, R&W, and Prince Auto. She also worked as a book-keeper for Jim Franklin Chevy, Winchester Ford, and WCDT radio. When she was able, Brenda enjoyed working in her flower garden, as well as working crossword puzzles and listening to country music. Her world revolved around her family, a loving and compassionate mother to everyone and a caregiver when needed. Along with her kind heart, her family will remember her feisty and wonderful personality. She was of the Baptist faith, and her home church was Greenhaw Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Partin; and brother, Johnny Hoover. Brenda is survived by her loving and devoted husband of sixty years, Sydney Roy Sons Sr; children, Roy (Hope) Sons Jr, Jamie Sons, Jeff (Staci) Sons, and Rachel (David) Barnett; grandchildren, Sasha (Jonathan) Frazier, Ty Bogman, Kirsten (Gary) Buzzinski, Jessy Sons, Shelby Barnett, Sydney Sons, Caden Sons, Jake (Andrea) Sons, Theron Sons (Kaitlyn), Ellie Barnett, and Grayson Archey; great-grandchildren, Natalie, Nathan, Braxton, Lincoln, Dylan, Thea, Madilyn, Ryker, Georgia-Faye, and Luca; and sisters, Faye (Harvey) Brewer and Wanda Hester. Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 17, 2025, in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Cowan Montgomery Cemetery with Ty Bogman, Caden Sons, Jake Sons, Theron Sons, Justin Brazier, Gary Buzzinski and Jonathan Frazier serving as pallbearers.
