Brenda Hughes age 68 of Pine Knot, Kentucky passed from this life on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at her home.
She was born January 6, 1957 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to the late Clarence Ray Ball and Zelma Elizabeth (Flynn) Ball. In addition to her parents, Brenda is preceded in death by a daughter in law, Jennifer; and brothers, Larry Ball, and Ronnie Ball.
Surviving family include her husband of 43 years, William Ray Hughes; sons, Clarence Hughes (and Derica), Brian Hughes, Oscar Hughes, and Jeffrey Hughes (and Becca West); and grandchildren, Maddilynn, Jeffrey Jr., Freya, Mercigh, Iris, Kayleb Ray, Garren, Kenzlynn, Grant, Karson, and Tara.
Also surviving are Brenda's brothers and sisters, C.J. Ball, Chris Ball (and Sheila), Carol Blakely, Elsie Dick, Wencie Trammell, and Vivian Humfrey; and special friends, Kathy Grundy Hollon, Myrtle Strunk, and Linda Laxton.
Brenda was a member of the Sulfur Springs Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She loved nothing more than caring for her husband and family, especially the grandchildren. Brenda had her own hobbies she enjoyed such as working crossword puzzles, coloring, and playing games. She also enjoyed flea marketing. Brenda will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home. Burial to follow in the Lower Cal Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday after 12:00 noon until service time.
