Brenda Waine Lashbrook

Brenda Waine (Davis) Lashbrook, 73, of Plainfield, passed away Tuesday, February 11th, 2025. She was born September 17th, 1951 in Corydon, Indiana to her parents Wayne and Delora (Walters) Davis. She married the late Gerald Dale Lashbrook on June 21st, 1986.
Brenda is survived by her two sons: Wayne Howerton of Plainfield and Christopher Howerton of Plainfield; step-son, David Lashbrook of Indianapolis; step-daughter, Heather Worland of Greenwood; one grandson, Shawn Lee Howerton; two step-grandsons: Nickolas Lashbrook and Wes Lashbrook; five step-great grandchildren: Gema Lashbrook, Maleah Lashbrook, Jakob Lashbrook, Acacia Wilson, and Archer Alsup; three brothers: Brent Davis (Carla), Richard Davis, and Roger Davis (Qudsia); aunts: Linda Summers of Indianapolis and Carol of Corydon, Indiana; and uncle, Paul Davis.
Brenda is preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband, Gerald Lashbrook; and step-grandson, Jacob Lashbrook.
Brenda, a proud graduate of North Harrison High School in 1969, went on to earn her Master's degree in 1983 from IUPUI, specializing in SCITO Technology. With a commendable 29-year career at IU Health, she demonstrated dedication and passion before retiring in 2012. As a member of Al-Anon and Alateen and serving as a State Representative for Indiana, Brenda made a meaningful impact on her community.
An enthusiastic card player, bridge and euchre were her games of choice. Her love for gardening flourished as she nurtured orchids, lilies, and roses, drawing joy from the beauty of flowers and butterflies. Traveling and quilting were also among her cherished pursuits. Radiating warmth, her favorite color yellow mirrored her bright personality. Known for her straightforwardness, Brenda inspired others to embrace honesty and authenticity.
Family and friends may show their love and support from 4 to 8 pm on Friday, February 28th and from 12 to 1 pm on Saturday, March 1st at Jones Crossing Banquet Center in Mooresville. A memorial service will be held at 1 pm following visitation on Saturday, March 1st at the banquet center. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Family Funeral and Cremation Service in Mooresville.
