Obituary
Brenda Kay Maksimovic, 71 of Portsmouth passed away Monday, September 25, 2023 at Grant Medical Center. She was born May 31, 1952 in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Roy Nickells and Margaret Buckley Collins, she was a East High School graduate and graduated from Franklin University with a Bachelor's Degree. Brenda retired from AEP with 30 plus years of service, and attended First Congregational Church, UCC in Columbus.
She is survived by two brothers, Eugene (Marie) Collins, Brian (Michelle) McCallister; special niece and nephew, Elisa Moore, Eugene Collins, III; special cousin, Martha (Paul) Oberley, her children, Dr. Mikell Rase, Cassidy MirMohamed, and a very special lifelong friend, Sharon Wolfe Lombard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alex Maksimovic, and her grandparents who helped raise her, Oscar and Lula Ethel Nickell.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 29, 2023 at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg. Arrangements are under the direction of Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford. Online condolences may be sent to www.edafh.com.
