Brenda McCurdy McCrady

Age 86 of Longwood at Oakmont, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. Beloved wife of the late Edward McCrady III for 60 years. Loving mother of Amy Lou Kemp (Christopher) and the late Edward D. McCrady (Pattie); proud grandmother of Charles Kemp, David (Maria Trees) Kemp, Margaret (Chris Crumb) Kemp, Edward (Anna White) McCrady, Maxwell McCrady, Evelyn McCrady, and Ruth McCrady; adoring great-grandmother to Lily Jo. Preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Margaret (Couch) McCurdy.
Brenda was a graduate of Springdale High School where she was a majorette. She graduated from Victoria Mannequin School and then from the University of Pittsburgh with a teaching degree. She was a Delta Delta Delta and a secretary for the Student Government. Brenda was an elder and a Sunday School Teacher at Edgewood United Presbyterian Church. She was a business education teacher at Penn Hills/Plum/ Woodland Hills. Together with her husband Ed, she ran McCrady Building Supplies. She loved her active life at Longwood and enjoyed sharing her many stories of Oakmont, Penn Hills, Springdale and Pittsburgh. She loved to play bridge and was an avid college basketball and Steelers fan.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday November 29, 2025 from 10am, until the time of the funeral service at 12pm at the JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC. (MONROEVILLE/PLUM CHAPEL) 445 Beatty Road, Monroeville (412-856-4747). Burial to follow at Cross Roads Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
