Brenda J. McGrath

1939 - 2022

Brenda J. (Kapp) McGrath passed away peacefully at home Friday, April 22, 2022, at 83 years of age. She was born April 4, 1939, in Penn Hills, to the late Charles Francis Kapp and Florence Grace (Beckwith) Kapp. Brenda was married to the late Robert N. McGrath Sr. on Sept. 12, 1959. She worked as a secretary to the president of J&L Steel when first married and as a secretary during the 70s and 80s for the Penn Hills School District. Brenda loved to read, was an incredible cook and an amazing artist. She is survived by their five children, Robert N. McGrath Jr. (Mary), of N. Kingston, R.I., Michael McGrath (Theresa), of New Kensington, Julie Scott (Charles Erik), of Nashville, Ark., Jill McGrath Keebler, of Penn Hills, and James McGrath (Natalie), of Arnold, Md. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; her sister, Karen Koger (Donald), of Harmony; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Patrick McGinley and Suzanne Weise, of Morgantown, W.Va. Following Brenda's wishes, there will be no services. In memory of Brenda, donations may be made to the Penn Hills Service Association or the Penn Hills Library.
