Brenda Joyce Moore, age 75, of St. Louis, passed away peacefully at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 29, 2025, at Evelyn's Hospice House in St. Louis, surrounded by the love of her family.

Brenda was born on January 14, 1950, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Hewitt and Bessie Mae (Harris) Nearing. She later married the love of her life, Jessie Moore, on May 27, 1972, and together they shared many cherished years until his passing.

Brenda's greatest joy in life was her family. She is survived by her daughters, Sharonda Wilkins, Angel Mabins, and Step Daughter Venita Walker all of St. Louis, MO; and four beloved grandchildren, Mercedes Wilkins, Ma-Nyah Wilkins, Dream Latimore, and Royalty Shelton, who brought endless smiles to her heart. She is also lovingly remembered by her siblings: Michael Nearing and Debra Ward. In addition, Brenda leaves behind a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and countless friends who became family, all of whom she loved very deeply. She was preceded in death by her parents, step father Marion Harris, husband, and her brothers Hewitt, William, Steven, and Kevin, whom she now joins in eternal rest.

Brenda spent part of her early life in Lima, Ohio, where she attended Perry High School, before returning home to St. Louis in 1978. She worked faithfully as a housekeeper for Janitron and Mitch Murch's for many years until her retirement. Known for her strong work ethic, caring nature, and warm spirit, Brenda was someone everyone could depend on. She had a gift for making others feel safe, loved, and cared for-always willing to open her heart and her home to anyone in need. She was a member of Williams Temple Church of God and Christ. She was also a part of the Clinton Peabody Tenant Board where she volunteered in the community working a concession stand. She was known as the "Snowcone Lady" or "Mrs. B".

She will be remembered for her love of family gatherings, her delicious cooking, and her joy for music and celebration. Brenda's intelligence shined through in many ways, with math being her favorite subject, and her kindness left a lasting mark on all who knew her. She especially adored children and was often trusted to lovingly care for the little ones in her community.

Brenda's life was one of love, laughter, resilience, and generosity. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, strength, and devotion to her family. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who had the blessing of knowing her.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to Evelyn's Hospice House for their loving care and support.
