Brenda Sue Rathsack, 69, of Springfield, Ill., passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at her home.
She was born on November 6, 1953, in Shelbyville, IL, the daughter of Clarence F. and Janet L (Starwalt) Beckhoff. Brenda married Andrew A. Rathsack on April 28, 1973 in Shelbyville, IL.
Brenda graduated from Sparks Business College in Shelbyville. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church. Brenda was a member of the Harmony First Barbershop Quartet and sang in several other quartets over the years. Brenda loved reading, fishing with her family, cooking and baking. She liked to watch movies and do scrapbooking.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Janet Beckhoff.
Brenda is survived by her husband, Andy Rathsack; son, Ben (Arrion) Rathsack; daughter, Sarah Rathsack; two grandchildren, Alex Rathsack and Kaylee Rathsack; sister, Debra Mandujano; and niece, Kendra (Craig) Fearnside. She is further survived by her sister-in-laws and brother-in-law, Margaret Patek, Carol Rabitz and Tony (Kathy) Rathsack; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 3, 2023, at Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th St., Two Rivers and also on Saturday morning, November 4, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10:00 a.m., at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd., Two Rivers.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd., Two Rivers, with the Rev. David Pleier officiating. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers, will immediately follow the Mass.
The funeral service will be live streamed on the St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church Website or St. Peter the Fisherman Facebook page.
Memorials in Brenda's name may be made to: St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Muscular Dystrophy Association, or Lakeshore Humane Society.
