It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brenda Faye Nance Williamson Snipes, affectionately known as Brenda. She departed this life peacefully in Wilmington, NC, on Tuesday December 2, 2025, at the age of 80. Born January 15, 1945, in Lumberton, NC, Brenda lived a life full of love, dedication, and quiet strength until her passing.

In her early years, Brenda served as an office secretary at Alderman Elementary School, where she was known for her kindness and diligence. Later, she devoted herself wholeheartedly to being a homemaker, cherishing every moment spent nurturing and caring for her beloved family. Brenda took great pride in her Wilmington home, where she lived since 1966. Alongside her husband, she built a loving environment and raised their family. Brenda also found immense joy in tending to her yard, where she could often be found enjoying the beauty of her own creations. Her Japanese Maples are a sight to behold.

Brenda was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Michael Allen Williamson, Sr., in 1979; her beloved son, Michael Allen Williamson, Jr., in 2020; and her devoted parents, Paul Tyndall Nance and Wincey Juanita Williamson Nance.

She is survived by her loving son, John Williamson, and his caring wife, Leila; by her dear sisters, Ann Enzor, Diane Webster, and Bertis McQueen; by her adored grandchildren, Cole and Luca; and by many treasured nieces and nephews. Brenda's family and friends will forever hold her memory close in their hearts.

In accordance with her wishes, services will be private.
