The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, November 12, 2025, beginning at 6:30 pm at Divide Memorial Methodist Protestant Church. Visitation will resume Thursday morning, November 13, 2025, at 8:00 am until the hour of the service.
Brenda was born on October 21, 1949, in Orange, Texas to Jimmy Lee and Doris Miller Scanlan. In 1975, Brenda moved with her family to the Topeka Tilton community, where she would marry and become a cherished wife, mother, and Nanny. She spent several years tending things at home; later, she and her daughter established a cleaning business known as the Grime Team, which quickly gained a reputation for excellence. Eventually, she was joined in this venture by several church members. The team's commitment to quality and attention to detail allowed the business to flourish, serving both homeowners and commercial establishments in the area.
Brenda and Jackie’s home will always be remembered as a gathering space for their family. Her kitchen served as the heart of her home and its table often bustled with laughter and conversation, with a bowl of pecans at the center, inviting everyone to join in the tradition of shelling. A fabulous cook, her home was often filled with the comforting aromas of her best dishes, including spaghetti, pralines, chocolate cake, and popcorn balls.
Known for her sweet nature, Brenda had an extraordinary ability to connect with children, drawing them into her embrace with her nurturing demeanor. It has been affectionately said that she raised nearly half of Lawrence County in her home, embodying a sense of community that went far beyond her immediate family. Her hospitality and warmth created a haven where countless children felt safe and loved.
Brenda will be profoundly missed, but her spirit and the memories she created will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Doris Miller Raynes; her grandson, Eli Michael Robbins; her sister, Elaine Polk; and her brothers-in-law, Jerry Polk and Grady “Tudy” Miller.
Her memory will forever be cherished by her beloved husband of nearly 48 years, Jackie W. Robbins of Monticello; her daughter, Lisa Ann Conley (Michael) of Jayess; her sons, William Barry Tolbird (Melissa) of Oakvale, Cristopher W. Robbins (Jennifer) of Jayess, Michael Todd Robbins (Johanna) of Jacksonville, FL, Jackie D. Robbins (Cindy) of Monticello; her sister, Rita Lynn Miller of Oakvale, her brothers, Donald Ray Scanlan (Mary Jane) of Denham Springs, LA, and Robert Wayne Scanlan (Lori) of Prentiss.
