February 18, 1954 - March 1, 2025
Brenda Gayle Trent, 71, of Roanoke, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Linwood and Dorothy Whitmire.
She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Jimmy Trent; son, Jimmy Trent III (Amy); brother, Larry Whitmire (Diane); sister-in-law, Kay T. Sowers (Curtis); special granddogs, Lilo, Daisy, and Maggie; and several nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews.
Brenda was a loving wife, mother, daughter, and sister. She loved to cook for the family, and she was a known jokester.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Rd. Roanoke, VA 24019; with a Chapel Service there the next day, Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 1 p.m.

Jimmy, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I remember Brenda always with joy, smiles and laughter. And as you said, a jokester. She loved her family deeply. I can remember her times with her mother and how they enjoyed doing things together. And when your name or the mention of your son came up, you saw nothing but love on her face. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this most difficult time. May God give you all strength and comfort in the times ahead.
