Brenda Vaughn Obituary

Born November 7, 1953, in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Willie Jeptha Atkinson and Sara Leaford Coker Atkinson. She was a homemaker and of the Christian faith. Brenda loved cooking with her nieces and fishing with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: David Michael Vaughn; sisters: Ruth Smith and Linda Atkinson; and brothers: Donald "Red" Atkinson, Spurgeon Atkinson, Kennth Atkinson, and Arthur Atkinson.
She is survived by her sons: James Vaughn and Chris Vaughn; sisters: Catherine Moore, Thelma Atkinson, and Shirley Shiretzki; brothers: Doug Atkinson and Billy Atkinson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 18, 2024 at the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Lavonia with Rev. Stacy Penland officiating. Burial will follow in Danielsville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 12:30 p.m. until the service. At other hours the family will be at the home of Billy & Pam Atkinson.
