Brenda Wethington

Brenda Wethington, age 63, of Reed, KY, passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at the Lucy Smith King Care Center under the care of St. Anthony's Hospice. Brenda worked for the Henderson County School System as a bus driver when her sons were very young. She moved on to work for the City of Henderson as the mass transit coordinator for almost 30 years. After retiring, she returned to driving the school bus for many years. Brenda loved all animals, especially horses. She grew up learning to care for and love them; then in her adult life she had many horses of her own. At one time, she had a dozen horses. Her son remembers one Christmas morning the horses getting sweet treats instead of the family. Brenda was preceded in death by her parents Claude and Maebelle Henshaw and her brothers: Wayne Henshaw, Donnie Henshaw, Larry Henshaw, Earl Henshaw, and Ricky Henshaw. She is survived by her sons Michael Wethington (Kristin) and Nicholas Wethington (Cecilia); sister Ruby Eikermann (Terry); grandchildren: Hadley, Ella, Reid, Johana, Josiah and Julieanna; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to Brenda's Life Celebration from 10:00 a.m. until the service time on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Fairmont Mausoleum in Henderson, KY.
