Brenda Rutland Williams, a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away on November 24, 2024, surrounded by family. She was born on December 6, 1944, to Loyes and Bertie Rutland. During her working years, she held various administrative assistant roles while working for the Louisiana State Government. Brenda was an avid football fan, loved shopping, taking care of her roses and flower beds, reading, and traveling, especially visiting the beach. She adored her grandchildren and wanted to be involved in everything they were doing in their lives. She also enjoyed taking care of her beloved dogs and puppies throughout her life. Brenda had the biggest heart. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Harold “Pete” Williams; son, Leeland Kilpatrick and wife Tracie; daughter, Kelli Kilpatrick Kerr and husband Scott; brother, James “Pepper” Rutland and wife Connie; grandchildren, Karson and Kallyn Kerr, Amanda, Blake, Sydney, and Breelyn Kilpatrick; and great grandchildren, Lucas, Ryan, and Rowan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Loyes and Bertie Rutland; son, Kevin Wayne Kilpatrick; sister, Carole Schroeder; brother, Hulan Rutland; and her previous spouse and father of her children, Maxie E. Kilpatrick.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge, on Friday, November 29, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 a.m.
