Brenda L. Wooley, of Liberty, passed away on November 30, 2025, at the age of 80. She was born on October 13, 1945 in Connersville, and is the daughter of Gooley Lakes and Ruby Legere Lakes. On March 5, 1977, Brenda married the love of her life, James Wooley, in Connersville.

Brenda had worked at D&M Manufacturing for several years until 1977. She later went to work at McGraw Properties and eventually worked in home healthcare, where her warm smile brought joy to those she cared for.

Brenda adored her family. Whether it was watching her children or grandchildren, she always beamed with pride. She enjoyed attending their sporting events, and cheering them on to victory. She also loved attending her sons, Gabriel and Curtis's, concerts and watching them play music. Brenda also enjoyed sewing in her younger years making many things for her home. In retirement, she loved traveling with her husband visiting all 48 states. Brenda loved to relax and watch old western movies with her family, especially Gunsmoke. Brenda took pride in her Cherokee Indian heritage and had a great interest in knowing her heritage.

Along with her husband of nearly 50 years, James, she is survived by her children; daughter, Venus Lingg (Rodney), sons, Gabriel Wooley (Kevin Bullock), and Curtis Wooley. She will be greatly missed by her siblings; sisters, Dolly Baker, Sharon (Alan) Burkhart, Lil Harper, Kathy Holland (Denny), and brother, Danny Lakes. Her memory will live on in her grandchildren; Jordyn Lingg (Jacob), Carson Lingg, Makayla Aubchon, and Drew Smith; 4 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her children; daughter, Madi Wooley and son, Michael Brockman. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Ilene Lakes Jones.

Visitation for Brenda will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Urban Winkler Funeral Home, 513 W 8th St. Connersville, IN 47331. A funeral service officiated by Eric Hopkins will immediately follow at 1:00pm. Graveside services will be held in College Corner Cemetery.
