Brenda York, age 76, of Huron, has gone home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 2, 2025 at Huron Regional Medical Center in Huron.

Her memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., on Monday, November 10, 2025 at First Baptist Church in Huron.

She was born to Myrtle (Bullock) and Delbert Davis on May 17, 1949 in Williamston, NC.

She graduated from Hampton high school. At a young age she attended church every Sunday and gave her life to the Lord early on. Throughout the years of attending church, she developed a love for playing the piano.

While in high school she met her soon to be husband. Later, they joined in marriage. They purchased and resided in their final home together in Smithfield, Virginia where they raised their three children Michael Steve York Jr., Michael Rodney York and Candis Michelle York.

After many years of being a homemaker she ventured out to work at the phone company in Smithfield, Virginia where she met many friends. While remaining strong in her faith she began her career at the Christian Broadcasting Network as a Prayer Partner on the phone lines in Virginia Beach, VA. For 10 years this position allowed her to do what she loved most, which was pray for others.

Throughout the years she taught spiritual warfare, Celebrate Recovery and ministered in the prisons. One of her greatest accomplishments was being an ordained ministry. She brought forth God's word to those around her while praying for lost souls always seeking to fulfill her purpose down here on earth.

She had a great love for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with family and was filled with unconditional love. She had a beloved dog that was her faithful companion Jericho "Jeri" Wall York.

She was proceeded in death by her parents Myrtle (Bullock) and Delbert Davis and her son Michael Steve York Jr.

She is survived by her son Michael Rodney York of Huron, SD, and daughter Candis York Askew (Greg) of Huron, SD.

Her grandchildren Amanda Kay Askew, Joshua Askew, Tristan Askew, Ashtynn York, Sierra York, William Cody Greer, Treyton York, Aiden York.

Her great-grandchildren Tayton Askew, Kristel Askew, Jastyn Michael Dean Albrecht, Owen Greer and Brendyn Douglass.
