Obituary published on Legacy.com by Forsythe Gould Funeral Home on Oct. 26, 2023.
Brendan Edward Burns, age 4, of Manhattan IL, passed away peacefully on October 26th, 2023 with his loving family at his side after a courageous battle with Neuroblastoma. Survived by his devoted parents Timothy and Megan Burns, sister Margaret "Maggie" Burns, grandparents Marcie and Ed Naglich, John Burns, Lynlee Wessels Marhanka and Scott Marhanka. Uncles John (Megan) Burns, Kevin (Jackie) Burns, D.J. (Kate) Burns and Marty Naglich. Cousins Eily, Jameson, Nolan, Owen, Ben, Emory, Deegan and Chloe. Extended O'Sullivan, Naglich, Burns family members and his cherished puppy Elsa. Brendan was a current preschool student at St. Joseph Preschool and was recently made Honorary Fireman with the Manhattan Fire Department. Brendan enjoyed coloring and sparring with his little sister. Brendan's fight with Neuroblastoma was fierce but he never complained and even looked forward to seeing his doctors and nurses. Brendan had a passion for everything Spiderman. In an effort to embrace this passion, the family strongly encourages those attending his services to wear Spiderman or Brave 4 Brendan swag.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 27th 2023 from 4-8:00 p.m. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be private.
