MISSOULA ~ Brent Christopher Hinds, 52, of Missoula, passed away on Friday, Oct. 24, 2025 at his home. He was born on November 20, 1972 in Aurora, IL to Carl and Linda Hinds. As a young boy, he moved to St. Louis, Missouri and lived there until 2022. Growing up, Brent was very active in scouting, along with his father as scout leader, for many years, and earned his Eagle Scout designation in high school. He attended school in Ellisville, MO at Lafayette High School and graduated in 1990.
Brent attended college at Mizzou in Columbia, MO for three years but left to pursue a management opportunity at a local retail store. He then worked in retail with various companies as a merchandiser, most recently with Home Depot for over 20 years up until his death.
On May 14, 2000 he married Trish Mahan and lived in the St. Louis area until their divorce in 2019. In 2003, they welcome a daughter, Macie Rae and in 2006, a son, Logan Christopher Hinds. Brent loved his children immensely and was very proud of their accomplishments over the years. He recently attended Logan’s high school graduation in St. Louis and kept up with their many sports and activities. He always took an interest in their hobbies and tried to spend time with them doing the things that they loved to do in life. In 2022 he relocated to Missoula, to enjoy fishing, camping and the beautiful outdoors of that state. He loved his life there and spent many hours on the river chasing those rainbow trout.
Brent loved his children, the Green Bay Packers (a shareholder for decades) and fly fishing. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Hinds and mother, Linda Hinds. He is survived by his two children, Macie Hinds (Springfield, MO) and Logan Hinds (Kirksville, MO) and his sister, Heidi Fortier (Michael) of Granada Hills, CA.
Brent will be laid to rest in a private service next month in Montana. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Alzheimer’s Association or American Cancer Society.
