Brent L Hullinger

Brent peacefully passed away after a short but valiant battle with dementia. Brent was born May 20th 1950 to Richard and Gladys Hullinger, he graduated from West High school in 1968, and was soon drafted for the Vietnam war in 1969. While stationed in Fort Carson he met his true love and life partner. Brent and Debra were married August 7th 1971, and made a home in West Valley and had three sons, they were immensely proud of.

He returned to school, going to college to complete his general education.

He spent many years working at Kennecott, Brighton Mill, and Heritage Homes until he found his place at The Grand America Hotel where he was a valued carpenter. He took pride in his work, and shared his knowledge and passion to many, including co-workers who became friends.

He built a larger family out of a close group of friends, who all gathered every weekend, whether it was in the back yard having a BBQ or in the mountains, hunting, fishing, and camping.

He loved everything outdoors and passed his passion on to his boys, they spent many years together enjoying the outdoors. Brent wasn't just a devoted husband and hard working dad. He was an inspiration, a teacher, a mentor and very respected and loved by so many. If you knew him, you looked up to him for any number of reasons.

Brent is survived by his bride of 54 years, Debra, his sons, Brian (Fawn), and Chad (Tiffany), his grandchildren, Morgan, Destriea, Chance, Nolan, Miah, Ryckelle, Haley, Jenna, Brooklyn, and Kinzley, two great grandchildren, Alianna and Kai, his brother Kevin (Jeanie), two sisters-in-law Jacquie and Stephanie, a few nieces and nephews, and bonus sons Brian Culbert, Jesse Wink, Alex Gay, and their families.

He is preceded in death by his parents Richard and Gladys Hullinger, brothers, Gary, Paul (aka Rick) and RIcky Hullinger and his son Steven Hullinger.

We will honoring our hero in a celebration of life on Saturday March 21st from 4-7 at the Gardner Village 'Mill Plaza' where we invite you to join us in celebrating Brent 'Pops' with dinner and memories you want to share.
