Brent Schusheim, born June 4, 1939, in the Bronx, New York, passed away on October 30, 2025, in
Williamsburg, Virginia, at the age of 86. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Brent pursued his higher education at UCLA, where he earned a degree that laid the foundation for a distinguished career in computer and software engineering. Throughout his professional life, he was regarded as a leader in the field of test equipment and software design, contributing significantly to technological advancement. His innovative spirit was reflected in the patents that bear his name-a testament to his commitment to excellence and ingenuity.
There were no limits to what Brent would do for his family. He spent countless hours driving his daughters and grandchildren to activities, helping with school projects, cheering them on at meets and performances, and traveling to see them when they lived abroad.
After retiring, Brent embraced his passion for travel, exploring new places with his beloved wife of 58 years, Nancy. He cherished every moment spent with his daughters and grandchildren, creating lasting memories that will be treasured for generations. An avid gardener, Brent found great joy in tending his yard and being outdoors. He delighted in solving problems with inventive designs, crafting brilliant solutions that revealed both his creativity and curiosity.
Brent was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy (Lane) Schusheim, and his sister, Sherrill Schusheim. He also leaves behind three daughters: Leana Schusheim Long, M.D.; Corina Schusheim, her best friend, Merlin Tripp and Courtney Schusheim, her husband, Dan Monahan. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Braden, Karina, Nayeli, Finn, Sadie, and Elam.
Brent's life was marked by love, dedication, and an enduring pursuit of knowledge. His legacy and love for family will remain a lasting blessing and comfort to all who knew him.
A private family memorial service will be held to celebrate Brent's life and to spread his ashes.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Brent's memory to Health In Sight Mission of Roatan, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing eye care in underserved communities, with which his daughter Leana volunteers.
