Brent Lee Strawsburg

Brent Lee Strawsburg was born on December 24, 1957 in Long Beach California. He graduated from Milikin High School. He then attended Long Beach State University, graduating with a degree in business in 1981. It was at Long Beach State that he met Cheri Curtiss, the love of his life, and beloved wife. Brent and Cheri married on May 30, 1981.
After graduating from Long Beach State and being a student leader at Bethany Church's college group, Brent felt the calling to enter into ministry. He went to seminary, completing a Master's of Divinity degree from Talbot Theological Seminary in 1984, and a Doctorate of Ministry from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1999. A life-long learner, Brent completed a secondary Master's degree in Christian Apologetics from Biola University in 2014.
In Christian ministry for over 38 years, Brent served in many roles, as college pastor & associate pastor of Bethany Church in Long Beach, senior pastor at ShoreLife Church in Huntington Beach, and as an apologetics consultant under his non-profit ministry Brent Strawsburg Apologetics. Brent believed fervently in teaching and sharing the Gospel, befriending anyone and everyone he could in the hopes of sharing the good news of Jesus. In the past decade he authored three books, the most recent on "Finding God in Pain & Loss. " His words and lessons are a comfort to his family and friends.
Brent is survived by his beloved wife, Cheri; his children Michael and Janelle; their spouses Bethany and Brad; and his four grandchildren Everlee, Russell, Henley and Davis. He is also survived by his siblings Carol Pond and Kent Strawsburg.
He will be remembered as a devoted husband, a dedicated father, an adoring Papa & Bop, and a faithful servant of the Lord. A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday May 13th at 11am at CrossPoint Baptist Church in Huntington Beach.
