Hey Brett! I thought about you today. Working downtown, skiing at Stratton mountain, going to Dave Matthews concerts .... We didn´t know each other long but you left your mark. Two decades later and you pop in and out of my mind often. Be well Brett!

Hello, I visited the memorial earlier this year. A friend of my family was a police officer who passed away in the towers also. While looking for his name I found this flower stuck into a persons name. Beautiful and poignant. Im sitting here editing images and have photos of two names, the police office and Bretts name. As I have a lovely photograph of the flower I wanted to find out a little about him and I came across this page and was delighted to find it has the ability to share photos. I would like to pass my condolences to Bretts family and I hope you like the photographs. Best wishes Ian Campbell Photography, Dublin , Ireland

The 9/11 Memorial overwhelmed me and my partner. The huge areas covered my the cascades, the depth emphasising for us the profound loss to the loved ones and friends of all those who died on that day. It was too much to take in, so we decided to just choose one name and mourn that one person. Brett's name was in front of us so we chose him. We decided to find out who he was, what he looked like. We prayed that he would rest in peace, consoled by the fact that he would be remembered, that his unfinished work would be completed by others on his behalf and that other generations like us would mourn his passing.

Today as I paused to think of Brett's friends and family, I once again vow to myself to be a kind-hearted, generous, and helpful friend to mankind, as Brett was. I know that this tragedy brought many tears, and scars that will last forever, but it also helped this nation pull together in a mighty way. We need to always remember these brave people who lost their lives that horrible day.

I always wondered...could it be the Brett Bailey I knew during my high school years? I'm sad that it is. Brett and I knew one another for a very short time while we were skate guards at South Mt. Arena, a figure skater and a hockey player. When I think of Brett I remember laughing, joking, and having fun. I couldn't help but smile when he smiled. Your loss is unimaginable. I wanted you to know that Brett made people smile whenever he was around them.

I don't know why I hate this day, it just reminds of the horror. I don't want to relive the horror. I just want to remember our last snowboard session in Telluride the previous winter, When I said, "I have to go, I will see you this fall when we are back on the east coast and we will have some good times". I am sure Stratton misses your bar tab, We all miss you dude. Only the good die young. By the way Julia and I are finally living the dream up the road from Salt creek and Trestles. Keep the swell coming!!!

To The Family,
I would like to extend my condolences to you in the loss of your loved one. I never had the privilege of meeting Brett Bailey but by reading the obituary one can appreciate that he was a talented, likeable, and friendly young man, - characteristics very rare in the world today. May God's Spirit be with you and help you to look forward to meeting up with Brett when he is brought back to life with the opportunity to live forever in a violent-free world where wickedness will not exist.
Sincerely,
Mr. Terry of NC

I know I can't begin to understand the impact of this experience on Yarah's life. I have seen the dramatic change in her demeanor since this happened. I am sure this would be true of anyone that has been through a similar experience.

Brett, when I saw your picture in the paper as one of the victims, my mouth and heart dropped bro...I was frozen. We haven't seen eachother in a long time but I have a lot of memories. I was there when you got your first big blue boat of a car. I gave you your first system. I was just like yesterday when I used to go get beer for you at Red Lion. When you worked at the grocery store off of route 88, you always hooked me up with food. You will be missed Brett. Thoughts and prayers for your family.

Brett,

I can't believe that it is almost 2 years you've been gone. Seems like yesterday you were busting on me about something. You are sorely missed. Not a day goes by that I don't think about you and that great smile of yours! You were an awesome guy and friend!

Miss you!

Brett it's been a year since you and all the other heros were taken from this world. I know you are in a better place looking down on all of us. You were a great friend and are missed terribly. I am proud to have known you through the years. Although your death is painful, the memories and stories that I have of you are priceless. Thanks for all the great memories buddy. Until we meet again, God Bless You.

Brett - I met a childhood friend of yours today — David Fair. He's a musician now and he's playing a tribute concert for your foundation tomorrow, Sept. 11, 2002. I've read your history, talked with your friends as they grieved your loss and seen your smiling face from a past photo. This atrocity means nothing without putting a face and a name and a story as compelling and touching as yours in the hearts and minds of us all. Thank you for being a wonderful person and know we are still praying for you and those with you on that fateful day.

Our heartfelt prayers go to the Bailey family & friends for the loss of Brett. We shall always remember the Summer in Long Island when we first met the Bailey family. We have a few photos from then. What a treasure to have for the memories. We see that Brett had grown into a very successful young man with the future ahead of him. Cut short by the disaster will be a heartache we all bear for the days of our lives.

Fondly,

Will & Pat Vandergrift

We are deeply sorry for your loss of Brett. May his friendly attitude, competitive sports challenges, his life and love live on in those who love him. May the sorrow in your hearts be lightened by warm memories of times shared with Brett. Our hearts cry with you.

America Cries

We see your sorrow-

and our hearts cry....

We can not erase your pain

but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-

-the American people-

are beside you.

We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,

the strength that gives you courage,

and the words to lighten your spirits.

And when we are left speechless

may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts

to ease your sorrow.

May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-

-the American people-

face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
