With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved Brett Tyler Mead. He unexpectedly passed away at home on Tuesday, August 27, 2022, at the age of 31.
Born in Macon, GA on January 15, 1991, Brett was a lifelong resident of the middle Georgia area. He was of the Baptist faith having accepted Christ at the age of 12 and had a true servant's heart. Brett had a quirky and dry sense of humor and was a kind and compassionate young man. He didn't hesitate to help care for his granddaddy when he came home from the hospital; he was a great help for his grandparents at all times. For fun, Brett loved playing guitar and loving on his rescue dog, "Biggie Sue" who meant the world to him. He was quick to show you a magic trick you'd never seen, as well. Brett adored all of his family but had a special relationship with his younger brother, Kaleb; he would do anything for him. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving mother, Leigh Bassett Mead of Byron; brother, Kaleb Lee Mead (Meredith) of Colorado Springs, CO; grandparents, Wally and Andrea Bassett of Warner Robins; uncle, Troy Bassett (Amy) of Watkinsville, GA; great-grandmother, Quida Windham of Columbus, GA; and cousin, Carsyn Bassett.
Brett's family will receive friends for visiting on Saturday, October 8, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Dr. Paul Cowles officiating.
