Brett Alexander Wells

May 5, 1972 – January 25, 2026

Brett Alexander Wells, age 53, passed away on January 25, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of service, faith, and unwavering devotion to his family. A man of deep-rooted strength and integrity, Brett lived a life defined by honor, love, and commitment to others.

For 34 years, Brett was a devoted and loving husband to Patty, and a proud father to Amanda Haywood (Stevie) and Michael (Chelsea). His greatest joy was being “Paw-Paw” to his beloved grandchildren, Alexander Duane Haywood, Elianna Rose-Ann Haywood, and Baby Wells (Nugget) each of whom held a very special place in his heart.

He was the cherished son of Michael Wells, who preceded him in death, and Cheryl, whom he loved deeply and leaves behind with treasured memories.

Brett honorably served his country as a United States Navy Veteran, a role that shaped his lifelong dedication to service. Following his military career, he continued protecting and serving his community as a Police Officer, embodying courage, fairness, and compassion. He also made a lasting impact as a Baseball Coach, mentoring young athletes and teaching lessons that extended far beyond the field—discipline, teamwork, and character.

A faithful member and staff servant of Saint Peter’s Catholic Church in Lindsay, Texas, Brett lived his faith through action, humility, and generosity. His presence within the church and community was one of leadership and support.

Brett will be remembered as a patriot, protector, mentor, and family man, whose life touched many and whose influence will continue through the lives he shaped.

As we honor his memory, we hold close the words that reflect his life of service and sacrifice:

“True patriots never die, as their legacy lives on forever.”

His legacy lives on in love, faith, and the countless lives he impacted.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Fr. John Martin officiating. A rosary will be recited at Geo. J. Carroll & Son on Monday at 6:00 PM with a visitation to follow. Graveside rites will occur at a later time.
