So sorry to hear the loss of a good man! My thoughts and prayers are with the family . The journey ahead will be long and hard, but stay strong in your endeavor to continue on. That God the Almighty may grant you strength, endurance, comfort and peace "so you may abound in hope through the Holy Spirit." (Ro.15:13) Treasuring his great accomplishments in your hearts and minds that it may carry you through these difficult moments.

Deepest condolences. Back in '92 or '93, I met Mr. Aldiss at a Readercon in Worcester, Mass. I was at an event, telling him about my early reading of his work -- one of several dozen other guests, all telling him similar stories. I had a migraine and had to leave early. The next morning, on my way to breakfast I shared an elevator with him and he asked after my health. "I noticed you weren't doing well last night. Feeling better?" That he remembered me and was thoughtful enough to ask after was enough of a boost that even if I were still in the throes of migraine agony, I would immediately have recovered. He was an exceptionally charming, witty, sweet, brilliant writer (even when I disagreed with him) who I, along with the rest of the world, will miss greatly.

Godspeed Brian, and thank you for sharing a part of your life with us.

Rest Brian, until you hear at dawn,
