Brian "Coach" L. Allbritton, age 65, passed away unexpectedly on May 30, 2024, at his home in Helotes Texas. Born on April 2, 1959, in Dallas, Texas, to Charles and Mary Allbritton, Brian spent his early years in Waxahachie, Texas, before moving to San Antonio, Texas, at the age of eight.
Brian graduated from John Marshall High School in 1977. He continued his education at Howard Payne University before earning his degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) in 1985. From a young age, Brian knew he wanted to be a football coach, a passion he pursued with unwavering dedication throughout his career.
He began his coaching journey at Pat Neff Middle School after gaining initial experience volunteering at Sul Ross Middle School. In August 1999, Brian found his calling as the Athletic Coordinator at John Connally Middle School. There he coached football, basketball, track, and also taught History classes. Brian's commitment to education and athletics spanned over 35 years, culminating in his retirement from the Northside Independent School District in June 2019. After his retirement, he continued to pursue his love of athletics by assisting the football games and track meets at Dub Farris Athletic Complex and Gus Stadium in NISD.
On March 10, 1990, Brian married the love of his life, Phyllis Orrick. They shared 34 wonderful years together, marked by love, partnership, and mutual support.. Brian cherished sharing time with his family, holding the dear moments with his wife and daughter close.
Beyond his professional life, Brian had a love for golf, hunting, and fishing, often spending time enjoying these activities with his close friends. He also served as a Deacon at First Baptist Church for several years, exemplifying his deep faith and dedication to his community.
Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Charles Allbritton. He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis, his beloved daughter, Katelyn, and his future son-in-law, Ian Niebla. His presence, guidance, and love will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held to honor Brian's life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Frontline Heros Outdoors, or a charity of your choice.
Brian was a proud American, a devoted Texan, and above all else a man of God. He will always be remembered for his devotion to his family, passion for coaching, and his unwavering commitment to his faith and community. May he rest in peace.
